Is anyone else receiving a corruption error when they attempt to unzip "The Great Work"?

Mine unzipped, and I'm on the third episode.
Does your torrent client allow you to force a re-check?

Oooh... if there's two of you, that might be a bad sign.
Can anyone else verify a working copy?
Ed. If the re-check passes, what about trying a zip repair app?

Re: Submissions Digest #26.2 -
Cheers for the PM, Ankh.
I've re-checked the local, and it uncompressed. So far Ankh's the only other positive feedback. If there are two of you, it seems likely there may be a problem. If so, we need to figure out if the problem can be resolved (forced re-checks, zip repair, ?). If not, we'll get the torrent deleted and work on another.

I managed to unzip it using WinRar, I still received a corruption error but at least they still unpacked.
Thanks for this one!

Re: Submissions Digest #26.2 -
I also get error and only one file in the zip. it's 0 bytes big, and when I unzip it I get only:
0 - Prologue - The Science of the Secret - 744MB
Obviously error in zip...

0 bytes big?!? That's clearly not right, and something must be amiss.
Did you try to force a recheck? How did you unpack it? Did you try WinRar or a zip repair utility?
My local copy also unpacks, so we've clearly got some that do and some that don't. It may have something to do with the size of the zip, or
Please report back on what you've tried and any results!

This is how I ended up. I still get the error, but I ignored it, allowing the file to unzip. I got all 6 AVIs and they appear good.

Corruption error over here too. However all 6 unzipped .avi(s) appear to be working perfectly. Phew... Thanks A Zillion!!

ZIP's limitations
I had the same issue, dl'ed the package twice before I remembered the compression size limitation.
The original ZIP spec has a limit of 4096mb max size. WinZIP is limited to 2mb. There's programs that ignore that and will make it bigger, but if the program adheres to the spec, you have... weird issues
WinRAR is the better choice for compressing stuff over 2mb in size.

I think the issue may lay in the decompression rather than compression. OSX has no such size limits on zips and I'd wager those who had difficulty decompressing the file are on Windows...
All said, I'm just glad it works!

In Digimob #26.2 The file "The Great Work.zip" is damaged, please someone who has the file without error can share?
On my system the message is as follows:
warning [/(digimob) Occult Mob's Submissions Digest #26.2/The Great Work.zip]: 0 extra bytes at beginning or within zipfile
(attempting to process anyway)
file #1: bad zipfile offset (lseek): 772161536
I am using Linux Debian Lenny,
Thanks!

Re: Submissions Digest #26.2 -
No, it is *not* damaged. As was described above, the file is larger than some zip applications will unpack. Since you're on Linux, I'm unsure what applications are available... I think unpacking is usually done in the command shell, but I'd guess there are other ways too...baruck wrote:In Digimob #26.2 The file "The Great Work.zip" is damaged, please someone who has the file without error can share?

Re: Submissions Digest #26.2 -
You are right friend, after a few attempts with some software and without success. I installed WinRAR on another PC with Windows and despite the message of corrupted file, unzipped ...
But not wanting to be boring friends! Why use zip if with zip and whithout zip have the same size?
They could simply put the AVI's in the torrent, easier, convenient and friendly!
Thank you for sharing! Now I watch them ... I was really in search of these videos!

Re: Submissions Digest #26.2 -
I don't know what software you were using, but on linux, 7-zip might do the trick in the future? But I agree -- it seems to me that archive files should generally be avoided.
