#81 was upped (David Rankin) as was #82 (Christopher Moors). Maybe I'm just being overly sensitive, but, uhhhh... WTF? Did he have like a half-dozen interviews waiting to be released? He's revamped his site and didn't post new episodes for several months, so maybe that's the case... but it just seems a little odd.

Anyway, enjoyed David Rankin's interview. Haven't gotten to Christopher Moors yet, but he's been on before...

It might also depend on how much he really knows about what he's doing. It might take him several months to edit the 'casts before he feels comfortable airing them. The best rule of thumb is to record at least half again as much material as you think you'll need so you can cut out the useless drivel and wild tangents, as well as some of the longer pauses where host or guest is trying to think of how to say whatever it is they're trying to say. Some 'casts actually remove ALL dead air, which improves the "professional" feel, but also removes most of the organic nature such conversations tend to have. Still, you don't want to leave ALL of it - you lose your own attention sometimes doing that! Finding that happy medium might take some time.

But then, so might editing audio with an 8-track deck.

Hrm... On the contrary, I mostly enjoyed this one. Wink

I hadn't come across Mr. Smith previous to the interview, but I will make it a point of looking further into his work. IMO, that makes it a successful episode (for me, anyway).

But I'm right there with you as to the confusion. I guess when the stars align, etc.

I haven't listened to the podcast yet, but at the very least I really think his artwork is excellent. But yeah, when I saw that, I was wondering where your interview had gone.

There's another episode upped Paul Clark. It's his THIRD time on the show. I'm really having a hard time not feeling offended. We started talking about maybe doing an interview almost a year ago! The interview was cut in December! Mad

Or, maybe it's an indication that Khephra is a crappy interviewee. Razz

Either way, my neutrality towards OoP is quickly heading into the gutter...

The interview was cut in December, and after that I have no input in the process. We'll just have to wait and see.

I know one thing. If the guy running OoP is putting off posting it because of our discussion here, we probably don't want him to post it at all. That's just juvenile. Not to mention adding to the stereotypically bad image occultists already have.

I emailed Greg with some updates earlier today, and he wanted me to reassure everyone interested that he was, indeed, working on getting Khephra's interview released as soon as possible:

I was concerned with the comments in your forum and perhaps I care too much, wanting to please everyone (an impossible task, I know from experience). I want you to know that the interview is slated to be podcast episode 87. Both 85, which should be out tonight or tomorrow, and 86 were recorded at the end of last summer. I will do my best to get episode 87 completed before the middle of May, hopefully sooner. I apologize that it has taken more than 5 months already. Life has a way of making mincemeat of plans...

The editing process for 2 hour interviews is grueling and time consuming. I appreciate your patience and know that I haven't forgotten or neglected the recording. In trying to be fair, I feel I've put myself in a difficult spot. I want to release the recordings in the order they were done, but somehow, no one is really happy because of the amount of time everything takes. If you could do me the favor of conveying that to your forum members and fans, I'd greatly appreciate it. I don't expect everyone to understand, but those who are interested deserve an update at the very least.

Thanks again and I wish you continued success with Digimob. You're performing a valuable service.

Finally got around to listening. Well done! Thought you did a pretty good job. I was particularly interested to hear a bit about digimob's history and the ideas for the free online occult university.
