This is a top-notch book, classic and unique on its kind, as you will find out, soon.
It exceeds and it surely outclasses in quality and originality many, many other books on internal and external transformation of the self, meditation etc...just read its back cover from google books! Man, I wish I knew this years ago, but hey it's never too late!
I have known and talked to people practicing this book and they all said it's one of the best things and decisions they ever made for their life! Personally, I was amazed when I met, now a 21y.o girl, who's been taught the principles and meditation of IGM since 11 and apart from her studies and learning the things she deeply desires and enjoys, since 17 she's been literally travelling and roaming the world to so many places, alone, always going with the internal flow of -her- life!

Yeah, I think the book's popular because it's something that Regardie recommended.

I read this maybe 20 years ago, and it's a strange mishmash of systems: dream/vision work, astrology, yijing,... It's fine as an introduction to some of these ideas, just a bit basic. And a huge chunk of the book (100 pages) is dedicated to an inane question and answer session!

Hi amandachen, actually I don't think that book is popular, because if it was..that...popular, it would have certainly been scanned, ocred and found a way to be shared through the internet. There are so many 'popular' books available nowadays that wouldn't deserve a 2nd look, why isn't this ?!

On the contrary, while this book is a classic and unique on its kind and like 20 years of age, it should have been already widely known and popular, kept and practiced as a classic meditation guide. It's not, I haven't seen it anywhere available, apart from being sold on amazon, libaries and even that, not available in many countries, that people can benefit from.
Personally, I certainly didn't find this by Regardie or just coz he recommended it, I'd buy it without a little research first. I made my research, spoke with people actually 'practicing it', not just reading it.
This book is meant as a meditation guide providing one with the basic of each system(Tarot, Jungian psychology, Astrology etc), of course that would be an introduction, what did you expect, the whole course of those arts, and of course it has some little notice one has to know by a big FAQ.

But, by all means, pleaze if you can find a way to scan or something and share this book, I and many people would really appreciate it. Like you said this is a popular book and I assume it can be found on many libraries, so if anyone can find a way, this will really help us all, providing one actually 'does' the practices inside!

If you have a friend that has been initiated into it why don’t you ask her to teach you the method? It literally would only take about 20 min. In the most recent edition of the book the method and theory are covered in 90 pages. In each edition the Q&A part was extended. I imagine nowadays he would have just opened an online forum.

it’s a fun little system, variations of which now appear in MANY New Age books. It certainly can provide some interesting insights, especially when used in conjunction with the Tarot and your astral birth chart.

A big failing, is its lack of external controls. It is very easy to be seduced by an opinion just because it came from within (or ‘beyond’). Information received this way isn’t necessarily any wiser or on the button than information discovered through outer means. Just read Steinbrecher’s views on sexual orientation and the Macrobiotic diet, to see how much our personal preferences colour the received ‘wisdom’.

Anyway I wouldn’t be too surprised to see it turn up in the next (digimob) digest

Been away for some time, while 'meditating' on some alchemical subjects, and other things!
I've seen this book uploaded on theoccult, by does anyone know if it's in digimob's digests, I took a look but couldn't find it.

I didn't say, she was my friend. I met her only once. She is a friend's cousin, leaves the other side of the world from me. My friend and I met her when she came here, while was travelling Europe(ah, a little later, some countries in Asia!), alone!
We didn't have time for all that, she was eager to explore the citites and was here for a short time. None of my actual friends, study or practice any occult stuff, too much scared!
So, I'm alone, that's why I wanted to learn this sytem first and then try to practice it by myself, though this very lately, I've kinda found a person who has done this, let's hope he's willing to help a beginner!

You speak as though you have done your homework, maybe I ask a couple questions, when I get the chance to read this, if you don't mind!

I've read reports of people that have been led astray by false guides etc etc, and am aware of some things, either way I think the author states some things to check if you have a true guide or something.
On the 'Diet' and sexual orientation, his nephew who continues his work has clearly stated that if there was a chance to go back and to remove some things those would be those things, as he didn't agrre with them even those, but I haven't read the book so, I can't have an opinion.

Btw, Amandachen was right, Regardie did mention this in his falcon ver of GD . I just didn't remember it!!!
