ST. AUGUSTINE, FL — (OfficialWire) — 09/24/08 — Florida authorities are investigating the abduction and beating of a woman who said she was forced to participate in a voodoo ritual.

Michelle Wood, 42, was found lying beside a road in St. Augustine with a piece of nylon rope around her right wrist and a bungee cord around her left ankle and belt loop, WJXT-TV, Jacksonville, reported Wednesday.

Wood told deputies she was abducted by five men who forced her to drive to a home where a drug party was going on.

Wood said a woman at the party attacked her with a knife when she refused to participate in a devil worship ceremony.

She said party goers forced her into a field where they said they were preparing for the Autumn Equinox.

The next thing she remembers was waking up alone in the woods.
