hello hello hello
hi everyone,
have some of the torrents and enjoy them. looking to help when i have something to offer. personal leanings are tantra, martial arts, and transhumanism(ala ray kurtzweil). big focus is mainly on yoga nidra though.
any info on yoga nidra would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Hi Emperorzombie! Welcome!
I've submitted a few tantra-related texts, so I'd expect them to be included in upcoming digests.
What - of Kurzweil's work - impresses you most?

Re: hello hello hello
as far as Kurtzweil's ideas,
overall the progression he describes can be seen in the products that we are buying today. i hear more and more about direct neural interface where as 10 years ago it was speculation. its primitive but actually in a working state now. the other day i read about a monkey with a brain implant or neural-helmet or whatever, and with it he could manipulate a giant robot arm. i hear of this stuff more and more as Kurtzweil contends.
i disagree about some of his explanations on the lack of intelligent alien life (as far as we can perceive). im hopeful about some of the energy/medical/transportation technologies but think he underestimates human politics and the idiocy it produces. if i remember i think hes a little too 'free market capitalist' in outlook as where ive only seen truly 'free market capitalism' on a playground when two boys trade G.I. Joes in an 'even-steven' manner. people are gonna want to controll these new or just emerging technologies and they wont understand that times change with them. like the situation the recording industry is in. or even (american) pro sports.
Kurtzweil's black holes as computer processors, if true or somewhat true could have interesting implications on future mythology. the universe as a big computer/god mind could settle the evolution/creationism debate, etc.
if anyone wants to start a topic consider me in.

Welcome
Feel free to start the topic yourself, I am sure many people would be interested in hearing about it.

Re: hello hello hello
zombies are fun and the mythos is interesting.
the name is from Amazing screw-on Head. a pilot for a sci-fi channel series that unfortunately never got made. too bad lots of potential and the characters were very cool. the main villain being emperor zombie, a wierd and cool megalomaniac who wants to turn the world into a demon cesspit and comes up with some cool quips to accompany it. its on youtube and i highly recommend it, its by mike mignola and has some great voice talents.
