seven rays courses
hello all,
as this is my first post let me say thank you all for a lifetime of great reading(!)
i have been studying the monastery of the seven rays courses from torrent number 20 for some time now and I have made it up to part 1 of year four. So I am lead to this question: is there a part two of year four? if so was it released on a different torrent? if not, will it be?
also what is the content of the spanish materials in that zip file?
i understand that there is a year 5-8 course also. are there plans to release any other bertiaux materials through the torrents?
thanks,
LB

Re: seven rays courses
93,
Alright, I knew there was something in the course about this, just had to dig it out.
As pertaining to the fourth year course: According to a paper from the 3rd year: "The 4th year course will be an occult commentary on the first 3 courses, and presented in 16 lessons. It will be the companion of the 2nd year course."
and then: "After the completion of the 4th year course, students will receive direct research papers and reports and courses and MSS. from the actual research projects of the Monastery."
So it sounds to me like "part 2" is just some research papers and what not, authored by members of the order, probably evolving and changing depending on what's going when you get there. So possibly, as far as course material goes, part 1 in the torrent is all there is to year 4. Anyhow, As I said, that's just what it sounds like to me.
Of course, who really know. Bertiaux's off his nut and seems to change his mind about everything at anytime.

if you go to the year four course itself, it says that there are to be 4 parts to year four, and they are described in detail. the files in the torrent end at part one though......
i think people give bertiaux an awful lot of shit for being "nutty", in reality i think he is smarter than EVERYBODY.

Re: seven rays courses
93,
Smarter than EVERBODY?
Hmm, I don't doubt that he's not fairly intelligent and I can assure all that he's actually a rather nice guy judging from the letters we exchanged many years ago. And I will say that some of his art is rather mesmerizing, especially his glyphs and doodles. That said, I wouldn't go so far as to make him out to be a genius above all others. I have every reason to believe that Bertiaux's popularity lies in the fact that fans consider him so intelligent, and by extension, owning his books makes them more "occultly smart" than everyone else.
On the other hand, I've read quite a bit of Bertiaux over the years and I can say that what you have is someone who has read a lot of Lovecraft, some physics books and sprinkled upon them some Voudoo terms. All this cobbled together with that mantra of his Theosophical roots: "When at first you don't succeed, make shit up." Whether it be spiritual benefactors, order lineage or anything in between. While a little bit of charlatanry is par for the course in occultism (is there anyone well informed who REALLY believes the story of the cipher mss, or that Gardner didn't create wicca whole cloth?) I find it amusing that while others get called on it, Bertiaux never does. It's as though his amicability to the occult populace makes him immune to criticism.
Well, it's either that, or the more likely theory that no one has actually read his stuff and just continues to promote his image on word of mouth. It's like a review for the VGW reprint stated: "The most anticipated occult reprint that no one knows anything about."
