I found this torrent tracker site occult.bz that I hear has a lot of useful resources; Does anyone have access to send invitations?

Is it no longer open registration?

Well I'll be damned. When I tried last night it said open registration slots had been filled and new users must obtain an invitation. Guess a spot opened up, cause I'm in

They have a set number of users, but they also regularly purge inactive accounts. Nonetheless, if anyone needs an invite, plenty are available.

I require an invite to theoccult.bz because I wish to explore that website and find out good ebooks torrents. I wanted to download Nag Hammadi Library from there but I was unable to sign up as the sign-ups are closed. If anybody give me the invite it will be appreciated very much. Hrm... Is it just me, or does anyone else think maybe first posts should be for something other than asking for favors?

Anyway, I think I've given out at least a dozen invites over the last few months, so it's not like there's a shortage of them or anything...

I can't remember my first post, but I also can't remember if I've ever asked a favor here, either. I've asked for more information, sure. I dunno. I tend to agree with ankh_f_n_khonsu - who incidentally shares a name with one of the more ancient of Pharaohs.

I'm sure this will be ignored just as much as the rest of this thread has, but I'll put it in big, fancy letters so it's easier to see:

Well, at least according to Nicholas de Vere. He posits that Ankhfn Khonsu was pharaoh around 2170 BC, and founded the "Dragon Court" at that time. Of course, further research shows that the actual individual mentioned was Ankh-ef-en-Khonsu, and was only a priest, albeit one reporting directly to the Pharaoh. Our own ankh_f_n_khonsu more likely derives his name from Aleister Crowley's use of it as a magical name (according to Wikipedia, anyhow), or the Thelemic traditions that surround it still, albeit more commonly in the form Ankh-af-na-Khonsu. Perhaps de Vere's Khonsu is a different one from everyone else's, but I haven't seen any mention of the guy outside of de Vere's work and its derivatives.

In the last month I must've gotten at least 2 dozen PMs from people who hadn't made a single post in our forums yet want invites to theoccult.bz.

Am I alone in thinking this a little ridiculous?

Should we implement a policy about handing invites out? Minimum post count, minimum time of membership, a combination of those and/or other guidelines? Or my favorite, absolutely no invites handed out through our forums. Nothing wrong with supporting another group with similar goals, but why come here just to get an invitation to someone else's site? It does seem quite ridiculous.

Nah, I think this is a good thing! I'm glad theoccult.bz is growing - it means more people will have access to more of what they're looking for.

I'm also happy to give invites. That's me personally, of course, so everyone else is free to do whatever they'd like with theirs, but I figure I get them to give them away, and am happy to give them to people who might benefit from them. My only gripe is that I think people should be contributing here, and instead, for a lot of anonymous one-hit drive-bys, it seems like the trend is in taking.

Anyway, from now on I'm going to personally consider each invite request on their participation here. And that's just how I'm gonna roll.

I've noticed that most of the people who come requesting invites do so because Google landed them here. I don't mind sharing the wealth, though I have no invites to offer (still trying to recover from Ratio Watch, sadly). It does annoy that people are joining simply to be able to ask for an invite. I tend to go by the rule of keeping sites separate, but I think I can make an exception and follow AfnK's lead on this one.
