Remaining BOTA courses

Post  The_One_True_Fred on Thu Jul 09, 2009 7:20 pm

The Builders of the Adytum study courses not yet archived.

I've separated these into two lists, the first covers the "current BOTA curriculum" as noted in the Paul Foster Case Bibliography. The second list are the Ann Davies courses that are now interspersed with the originals. I wanted to note these now because several of the courses on the first list are currently for sale on Amazon, something I haven't seen for these levels before.

===Original courses===
The Master Pattern 1-12:

There's a *ton* of BOTA stuff floating about out there... I'm a little surprised more of it hasn't been submitted already...

If you are a member, why would you need to download the material? Members receive weekly lessons in the mail.

Yes. I didn't know the lessons were weekly though... if so, I guess that could help build consistency of practice.

Ouch! Tragedy seems to claim and occlude a great deal of history.

If it's submitted, it'll be included in an upcoming digest. Hopefully they'll turn up. Smile

The B.O.T.A. lessons of Paul Foster Case are very similiar to the Paul Case's original School of Ageless Wisdom courses.

These were:

Section A The Life Power
Section B Seven Steps of Spiritual Unfoldment
Section C Concentration
Section D Magic ( not found in the current B.O.T.A. course structure )
Tarot Instruction, Section First
Tarot Instruction, Section Second
Hermetic Alchemy

The above courses include the complete School of Ageless Wisdom course content.

Section A and Section B have been published here:
http://www.amazon.com/Occult-Fundamentals-Spiritual-Unfoldment-Vol/dp/098189772X/

Section C and Section D have been published here:
http://www.amazon.com/Esoteric-Secrets-Meditation-Magic-Writings/dp/0981897738/

Tarot Instruction, Section First has been published here:
http://www.amazon.com/Wisdom-Tarot-Golden-Dawn/dp/0982352131/

Tarot Instruction, Section Second has been published here:
http://www.amazon.com/Tarot-Revelations-Golden-Dawn/dp/098235214X/

Hermetic Alchemy has been published here:
http://www.amazon.com/Hermetic-Alchemy-Science-Practice-Golden/dp/0982352115/

You can contact B.O.T.A. and for a small donation they will replace any lesson you have lost.

1970's B.O.T.A. course structure

Post  Benjamin Stein on Wed Jun 30, 2010 10:05 pm

I don't know if this is relevant (or of interest) but in the 1970's the B.O.T.A. lessons were mailed out in this order:

Seven Steps in Practical Occultism
Introduction to Tarot
Tarot Fundamentals
Master Pattern
Interpretation of Tarot
Tree of Life
32 Paths of Wisdom
Sound and Color
The Great Work
Developing Supersensory Powers
Esoteric Astrology
(I did not progress beyond this point.)

At that time "Meditation Ascent on the Tree of Livingness" by Dr. Ann Davies was in the United States Library of Congress. Subsequently several taped lectures were added to that collection.

bota

Post  opal on Mon Sep 12, 2011 6:49 pm

bota is more or less dead, wouldnt put too much effort into it any more .... have been a member for quite a while, very good teachings - but the structure got badly corrupt im my opinion, some changed to FLO (dont really like the people there and cant tell too much)

others changed to amorc as amorc has the biggest network of groups and oral support worldwide;

most of the bota material can be found on amazon or be downloaded in the web for free ;-)

In Relation to Bota

Post  benrr on Mon Nov 19, 2012 4:19 am

I started reading the Bota system and I saw its really interesting. I was just wondering the results of the system. Before I follow a system I always look at the spiritual as well as material development in the lives of those I know practicing it.
So that's why I am in the amorc system. Almost all the French presidents are members, all the presidents of former French colonies and all their ministers. Most of them I know are experiencing all forms well being in their live. At one point I was a little bit caught up wondering if its the teaching that unfolds that or their use of simply "Networking" and you must "know the right people" approach.

Re: Remaining BOTA courses

Post  lilchiva on Sun Jan 06, 2013 2:28 am

When I was a member lessons were sent every other week. I am not sure what to say otherwise. I would love to get a hold of copies of some of the later lessons etc. My Take on BOTA is that they are quite an excellent introduction to esoteric Christianity and Hermetisim. The Tarot courses are simply the best I have come across, especially for beginners. Some of it needs to be read with a grain of salt etc. They don't really do magic and I wasn't impressed with their Pronos work or healing rituals.

I think depending on your goals, the BOTA work is excellent. However, if you are looking to rule the world, you aren't going to find it here. They offer excellent and practical advice about ruling yourself. They are a bit anti-power and anti-materialist.

While I have a number of criticisms of Case's work and POV. I will say that he lays things out clearly and easily. Further, the type of objections I have are objections that have with all the Western Mystery schools, in general. And, they happen to be significantly more advanced than is actually relevant for someone just starting out or wanting a deep study of Tarot and Path working.

Hope that helps someone. And, if you have access to scans of the lessons, I would be happy to have them. I share. Thanks.
