Face-plate Hieroglyphics
Hello
93
Question. I have been wondering about the hieroglyphics on the faceplate of all the Libri in "The Equinox". They are on the bottom portion of the frame that makes up the faceplate. I have it on good authority that they are discussed in "The Equinox" III No. 10 in the appendix. I do not have this book. The book is The Review of Scientific Illuminism, the Official Organ of the O.T.O.
Can anyone confirm this? Additionally could anyone supply the information from their volume if they have it?
Thanks much in advance,

Hrm... I thought all the Equinox volumes had been released, but looking now, I'm not so sure.
Do you mean these?

Re: Face-plate Hieroglyphics
You know, I don't seem to be able to find any complete volumes of The Equinox online other than volume I. This seems like a noteworthy information gap to me, but I have no idea what to do about it. Maybe I'll see if I can dig just a little deeper and locate something on the internets... Barring that, what can be done? Put it on the wishlist?
Re: Face-plate Hieroglyphics
Ok, I see.... *most* of it has been re-published as various Libers and articles. Is there a chance that volume III number 10 is included in Regardie's "Gems of the Equinox"? I haven't looked. Seems like it should be available somehow.
Re: Face-plate Hieroglyphics
93,
The Equinox vol.3 #10 is a relatively recent volume issued by the (c)OTO originally in 1986 and in print by Weiser since 1990 or so. It's a collection of the Libri and assorted documents devoted solely to the OTO with some god awful poetry and an article on Kenneth Anger thrown in for the hell of it
I think what is being referred to though, is an appendix in "The Holy Books of Thelema" or Equinox Vol. 3 #9, also a more recent volume released by the (c)OTO. This appendix is a symbol by symbol translation of Hieroglyphs on the Stele of revealing.
Now, to answer your question, as these are from the Stele.
The middle box says: "Hudit god great lord of the sky" This appears between the wings of Hadit on the Stele.
The first and last box appears underneath the offering table between Ra-Hoor-Khuit and Ankh-f-n-Khonsu. and says simply, and a little humorously:
"Bread Beer" and "Cattle and Fowl" referring to the sacrifice being offered.

Awesome, I think you are right it was meant to be III, 9.
I have The Equinox III, 9.
You are correct.. those glyphs are all there on the Stele!.. Thanks I wish I had thought of that, very good. RTFS.
The Gardiner-Gunn translation is "Oxen, Geese, Wine(?), Bread"
Not as nice as bread, beer, beef and bird!
All the best!
