Ok I magically extracted 6 files from zip using winrar's Wizard option.

ZIP's limitations

I had the same issue, dl'ed the package twice before I remembered the compression size limitation.
The original ZIP spec has a limit of 4096mb max size. WinZIP is limited to 2mb. There's programs that ignore that and will make it bigger, but if the program adheres to the spec, you have... weird issues
WinRAR is the better choice for compressing stuff over 2mb in size.

I think the issue may lay in the decompression rather than compression. OSX has no such size limits on zips and I'd wager those who had difficulty decompressing the file are on Windows...
